▲ space overview © The initial design strategy of Mariela Apollo project is simple and clear, which is easy for people to understand and live friendly.
The components located in the middle of the space become the reference axis of the design, and all functions in the house are arranged around it.
The central element is full of dynamic rhythm, which is balanced with the tranquility of the rest of the space.
The paving connected with the vertical components is transformed into a base, and the height is changed according to the space needs, forming a continuous package around the main shaft.
Lighting, materials and functions complement each other, brewing a calm, accurate and orderly atmosphere and creating a peaceful living space.
▲ the axonometric project aims to re plan a clearly zoned house, which consists of a sequence of small spaces and unlighted walkways.
The residence is located on the tenth floor of an apartment building.
Due to the continuity of different floors in the vertical direction, the spatial layout cannot be changed.
This became the first challenge of the project, that is, how to reorganize space under apparently unchangeable conditions.
The house faces outward on three sides, providing many daylighting options.
These facades have their own characteristics, all of which have played an important role in the final scheme.
▲ from the entrance to the living room © In order to optimize the space and natural lighting to the greatest extent, Mariela apollonio proposed a simple and clear strategy, that is, to build a central element without moving to organize the residence, and its size and location are expected to provide more value for the surrounding space.
Other functions of the residence are set around this central element.
The functions are interconnected and can be converted to meet the different needs of residents in the whole living process.
▲ fixed elements in the middle of the space © Mariela apollonio connects the main space of the living room, dining room and kitchen, helping to improve the proportion between functions.
Other space segments around the central element are mainly planned as bedrooms, which can also accommodate functions such as studios.
▲ corridors and sequence spaces around central elements © The design of Mariela Apollo focuses on two main issues.
The first is the construction of the central element, which forms a unique component full of rhythm in its space, absorbs the storage space of the residence and integrates the layout of main facilities.
The second is the pedestal made of oak, which can be understood as a floor raised vertically, and the height changes according to the demand.
The latter is distributed throughout the residence, providing continuity for the space, and highlighting the existence of the central element as a enclosing component.
