Show the charm of wooden components of ancient buildings. There is a popular science exhibition of wooden components of ancient buildings in

The century-old house has been revitalized and become the base and window for spreading the knowledge of the protection and repair of ancient buildings.

Recently, an exhibition entitled “Popular Science Exhibition of Ancient Architecture and Woodwork” is on display at Sijing Huibo Academy, and the exhibition is expected to open until the end of March.

This exhibition, co-sponsored by Huibo Academy and the International Research Center for the Protection of Architectural and Cultural Heritage of Shanghai Jiaotong University, displays a total of 12 ancient plaques and about 40 ancient architectural wood components, aiming at an imaginative reconstruction and exhibition of ancient architectural wood components.

In the way of presentation, the organizer adopted the concept of “professional and public oriented”.

Next to each type of component, there is a physical object, an axonometric map, a clear title and a text expression, which makes the presentation more concise and clear.

The reporter learned that there is also a story behind the exhibits on display.

More than ten years ago, a professor who was enthusiastic about ancient architecture collected more than 1000 wooden components disassembled from Huizhou old houses and gave them to Shanghai Jiaotong University, hoping that one day they could be rebuilt in different places on campus.

After many considerations, it is found that according to the existing technology, there are still difficulties in remote reconstruction.

In order to live up to the professor’s wishes, after many discussions, these wooden components were displayed in the library of the campus of Jiaotong University.

The wooden components of ancient buildings on display this time are one of them.

The organizer hopes to lead you to explore the role and significance of different ancient building components in structure and space by showing the original architectural components to the public.

In addition to close observation of ancient buildings, the exhibition site also has small links that can interact with tourists.

Luban locks, construction toys and other ornaments that are both intellectual and related to wood work are very popular with children visiting here.

The organizer said that in the future, QR code voice explanation and more interactive links will be added to the exhibition to further improve the viewing experience.
