On the afternoon of August 16th, after a rain, the temperature dropped and workers were salvaging the components of the Tunxi Old Bridge in the river.
This is an ancient bridge railing stone made in the Ming Dynasty, with a unique shape.
In the construction of old bridges after the Qing Dynasty, this type of railing stone did not appear.
This time, it was salvaged and released, and it was also a reappearance after sleeping in loneliness for hundreds of years.
On the evening of August 17th, multiple excavators and trucks were operating at full speed.
On the revetment of the old Tunxi Bridge near the old street, the famous writer Yu Dafu’s poem praising the Xin’an River is still: “The Xin’an River has a clear and leisurely water, and people on both sides are scattered like boats; a few nights of dreaming under the Tunxi Bridge, the heartbroken spring looks like Yangzhou.
Since ancient times, countless poems and articles have praised Huizhou and Tunxi, and Yu Dafu is definitely one of the best writers of the beautiful scenery of Tunxi.
On August 17th, the salvage of components entered its sixth day and the progress continued to accelerate, approaching the range of multiple bridge piers.
The stone storage yard for the ancient bridge components of Huaxi Hotel features a large number of components arranged in categories, with a magnificent atmosphere! Many Ming Dynasty ancient bridge watchstones have been salvaged! I don’t know what this type of stone is used for, whether it is perforated in the middle or at an angle.
The boulders at the head of the big bridge have also been salvaged and landed.
