Dextra Group, located in Bangkok, Thailand, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of civil engineering construction products, with branches in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia.
Since its establishment in 1983, Dextra Group has been involved in the construction of over 10000 large-scale construction and industrial projects worldwide, providing it with unique global experience and expertise.
However, the most prominent design of Dextra Group is the Groupec mechanical connection system.
Groupec Mechanical Connection System Groupec is a mechanical connection system designed by Dextra Group specifically for the connection of prefabricated concrete components with internal threads at one end.
Each Groupec sleeve has a threaded end (used for connecting steel bars in prefabricated factories) and a wide cavity that can be filled with non shrinkage mortar at the construction site.
During the design and manufacturing process, Groupec has three models to choose from: small S, large L, and F sizes.
The S and L numbers can be connected to any product in the thread system designed by Dextra, including Rolltec, Bartec, and Fortec, while the F number can be connected between components separately without any steel bars.
At the construction site, the connection can be completed by injecting non shrinkage mortar into the cavity of the mold, which only takes a few seconds.
Whether the upper or lower components are connected horizontally or vertically, Groupec can successfully complete them.
In prefabricated factories, with the help of Groupec, precast concrete components can be quickly and accurately connected, which can save a lot of time in the construction process.
In recent years, Dextra Group has built a large number of famous buildings using the Groupec connection system.
Let’s take a look at the tremendous power of this small internal threaded connection system in architecture.
A typical case of Dextra Group using the Groupec connection system for the Plum Blossom Apartment project is the Plum Blossom Apartment in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Plum Blossom Condominium is a 38 story apartment project consisting of two towers, each measuring 112 meters high, located near the elevated subway station in the northwestern part of Bangkok.
After completion, the residential building will accommodate 1013 apartments.
The first phase of the project (the first tower) began in September 2015 and was completed around March 2018
