The first working meeting was held in Beijing from August 23 to 24, 2018 for the preparation of the Association’s standards “Ultra high performance concrete: Technical specification for prefabricated components”, “Ultra high performance concrete: Technical specification for structural design”, and “Ultra high performance concrete: Technical specification for cast-in-situ construction”.
More than 40 representatives from 29 associations, scientific research institutes and relevant construction, design, production and construction units (the list is attached) attended the meeting.
The representatives at the meeting listened to the report on the preliminary investigation and preparation of the standard, fully communicated the current situation and existing problems of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) technology, clarified the division of labor of the participating units and the progress of standard preparation, and put forward opinions and suggestions on key points such as the principle of standard preparation, the object and scope of application of the standard, the unified coordination of the contents of a series of standards, the main chapter structure of the standard and the main technical requirements.
UHPC has the characteristics of ultra-high strength and toughness, good construction performance and excellent durability.
Its application in engineering abroad can achieve structural lightness and architectural diversification, and it can also be used as a repair material to strengthen existing structures.
At present, the engineering application of UHPC in China is still in its infancy.
A few cases include steel UHPC light pavement, UHPC steel concrete composite bridge tower, UHPC panel, UHPC main beam and UHPC joint reinforcement in bridge engineering.
As an important engineering structural material in the future, related technologies and products are rapidly developing and expanding.
UHPC technology in Europe has been relatively mature, and North America, Japan and South Korea, Malaysia and China are catching up.
The three standards in Technical Specification for Ultra High Performance Concrete: Prefabricated Components, Technical Specification for Ultra High Performance Concrete: Structural Design, and Technical Specification for Ultra High Performance Concrete: Cast in situ Construction are the standards of the project initiation association in 2018.
They will make corresponding technical regulations on UHPC component production, structural design and on-site construction, fill the gaps in relevant standards of UHPC in China, and help UHPC vigorously develop prefabricated buildings in the country To lay a solid foundation for promotion and application under the background of improving the service life and performance of structures.
