According to the news on hatch’s official website on January 14, the company’s innovative CFRP technology has been adopted by BMW and applied to its BMW 7 Series cars to enhance the metal shell of the B-pillar (the B-pillar refers to the pillar between the front and rear doors of the car).
It is said that hatch composite materials are supplied with CFRP prefabricated parts.
This kind of preform lays unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg in multiple directions, and then adopts hexply ® M77 resin system, curing is completed within 1.5 minutes at 160 ℃.
In order to meet the requirements of mass production in the automotive industry, hatch composites has set up a fully automatic production line in Europe and Austria, which can convert unidirectional prepreg into bidirectional preform in a few seconds.
The production line can combine prepregs with different weights and orientations into a whole, and complete the integrated production through fully automatic cutting, alignment, gluing and subcontracting.
The B-pillar prefabricated parts produced daily by the line can meet the needs of 500 BMW cars and help automobile manufacturers meet the requirements of mass production and high quality.
Hatch composite’s CFRP solution not only helps to realize the lightweight of the vehicle, but also helps to reduce carbon dioxide emission and improve the overall safety performance of the vehicle…
