Review of master lecture Zhou Liang: practice and exploration of industrial assembled bridge technology

held the first master lecture in 2022 in the lecture hall of the arts and crafts building.

Zhou Liang, a national engineering survey and design master and chief engineer of Shanghai urban construction design and Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd., was specially invited to give an academic lecture entitled “technical practice and exploration of industrialized assembled bridges”, It is presided over by Ding Jianming, deputy general manager of the company.

The lecture starts from the research background and general situation of industrial assembled bridge.

Master Zhou Liang believes that the development of industrial assembled bridge technology is the objective requirement of industrial intelligence and information development in the new era, and pointedly points out that the key to the promotion of this technology is to solve the three major problems of “intelligence, lightweight and economy”.

Focusing on these urgent problems, he introduced the latest scientific research achievements in prefabrication and assembly technology, including the application of UHPC ultra-high performance concrete in cast structures, the comparative test of precast full-scale columns and cast-in-situ columns, the research of precast hollow columns, the research of steel sleeve connected piers and other key technical research topics.

Combined with the revision of prefabrication and assembly specifications, he expounded the core spirit of “keeping pace with the times, paying attention to practice and paying attention to details” in the revision of the new prefabrication and assembly standards from two aspects: the background and principles of the preparation of the new standards and the explanation and interpretation of the main provisions of the new standards.

Master Zhou Liang took Shuangxi bridge in Penang, Malaysia as an example to illustrate the advantages of industrial assembled bridge in design and construction, and stressed the importance of economic rationalization evaluation of industrialized bridge.

He advocated using the value engineering method to comprehensively and scientifically evaluate the industrialization bridge from the perspective of life cycle cost, combined with the requirements of energy conservation and emission reduction and many factors such as social and environmental impact.

As a leading talent in Shanghai and a leader in bridge discipline, master Zhou Liang presided over and designed many major projects such as Shanghai Yangpu Bridge.

Especially in the aspect of bridge industrial assembly design and construction technology, he has completed a large number of pioneering basic research work, compiled the first domestic technical specification for Precast Pier assembly, and put forward the “pile foundation cushion cap column bent cap assembly design method” to fill the domestic gap, which has driven the popularization and application of fully precast bridge technology in the industry.

After the lecture, master Zhou Liang had extensive and in-depth technical exchanges with the participants.

The lecture let everyone know the latest research results, challenges and future development direction of cast bridge technology.

In order to effectively promote the construction of “high-quality, economical, environmental protection and industrialization” bridges, designers need to constantly emancipate their minds and strengthen learning to meet the requirements of bridge industrialization and intelligent technology progress.
